Pentecostal pastor sentenced in S.Africa over gay slurs

A South African Pentecostal pastor was handed a 30-day suspended jail term on Friday for repeatedly making homophobic comments, including a suggestion that gays be locked in cages like animals. Oscar Bougardt was found guilty by a Cape Town court of making statements that discriminate and incite hatred against homosexuals. He was also ruled in breach of an earlier court order that barred him in 2014 from verbally attacking homosexuals. Judge Lee Bozalek sentenced Bougardt to a 30-day jail term, suspended for five years provided he makes no further anti-gay comments. Bougardt is a pastor at Calvary H.O.P.E Ministries in Cape Town. In 2016 he described homosexuals as “criminal” and said “99 percent

    Only in Botswana

This is what happens when you give tenders to friends who are not capable of doing the job. At the recent COSSASA games in Francistown, Shaya observed the flimsy tent sheltering the honorable Assistant Minister Thato Kwerepe, the Mayor and other stakeholders looked in real danger of collapsing. Indeed, despite the fact there was hardly any wind, one of the poles fell over, narrowly missing Mayor Muzila! An aide was then instructed to hold up the heavy-looking pole and warned there would be severe consequences should it fall on the Assistant Minister. The poor man was left holding onto the pole for almost two hours! Eish, only in Botswana!

Zimbabwe: I Can Impregnate Any Woman, Says Chamisa

MDC Alliance leader Mr Nelson Chamisa yesterday said he was young and could impregnate any woman to prove how energetic he was in yet another show of sexism. The misfiring MDC-T faction leader recently pledged to give President Mnangagwa his 18-year-old sister if he manages five percent in this year's harmonised elections. Chamisa's remarks sparked outrage from Zimbabweans across the body politic. He apologised last Thursday for his sexist remarks saying: "If anyone felt hurt about the joke I am sorry. It was just a political banter that I used to illustrate that even if I promised to give him (Mnangagwa) my most prized possession, he would still not be able to defeat us in a free and fair election."
