According to the_ Sunday Times_ newspaper, the President called for a strategic retreat at last month's NEC meeting on the ICC decision, following a loss of African support.

    Man arrested in fast food drive-thru over 'kidnapping' of KZN woman

    A man who is alleged to have kidnapped a Pietermaritzburg woman on Thursday has been arrested. Sources close to the investigation said members of organised crime arrested the man in the Shelly Beach area on the KwaZulu-Natal south coast shortly before 7pm on Sunday. He was spotted in his vehicle coming out of the KFC.

    Cops bust 13 for 'repackaging' expired sweets, drinks and snacks in Gauteng

    Ekurhuleni metro police and the SAPS have pounced on a facility where expired sweets, chocolates, drinks and snacks were being “reprocessed and repackaged” for sale to consumers in Gauteng. Community safety MMC Phaladi Mmoko said the property in Springs was raided on Friday after a tip-off from the community. In this property they are repurposing expired consumables like sweets, chocolate, soft drinks and snacks, repackaging them and reselling to the community.

    Defence ministry unmasks fraudsters soliciting bids for 'PPE tender'

    South Africa's defence ministry has taken a “dim view” of fraudsters using department of defence letterheads and Nosiviwe Mapisa-Nqakula's name to put out a “tender” for 45,000 face masks. Department of defence spokesperson Siphiwe Dlamini said opportunistic scammers were soliciting “unsuspecting business community members to tender for a contract” for personal protective equipment.
