The father and boyfriend of a 15-year-old Limpopo girl have been arrested for rape and statutory rape, respectively. According to police spokesperson Colonel Moatshe Ngoepe, the girl’s 40-year-old father, who is from a village in Giyani, went to look for her after she left their home on Saturday. He found her at her 25-year-old boyfriend’s home and from there, took her to the local police station to open a case of statutory rape.
RANDBURG – Economic Freedom Fighters (EFF) leader Julius Malema has warned his lawyers in his assault case that if they did not win his case, they should be worried about their careers. Malema on Thursday addressed his party members and supporters outside the Randburg Magistrates Court after appearing in court. Three Home Affairs Officials aged between 30 and 42 have been arrested on charges of corruption after allegedly demanding a bribe in exchange for not reporting an undocumented immigrant residing in South Africa. The arrests were made during a sting operation between the Serious Corruption Investigation and Home Affairs Counter Corruption for alleged corruption in Jane Furse in Limpopo on Tuesday, October 27.

A total of 6 140 government officials claimed TERS benefits from the Relief Fund to the value of R41 009 737.70, while 59 South African National Defence Force (SANDF) staff claimed R327 638, seven prisoners claimed R40 657.93 and claims to the value of R441 144.34 were paid out to 68 deceased individuals. Advocate Andy Mothibi, head of the Special Investigating Unit (SIU), ascribed these pay-outs to the failure of both people and systems with a measure of collusion and fraudulent activities.
