    Lawyer attaches Kaizer Motaung's bank account

    Kaizer Chiefs founder and chairman Kaizer Motaung is locked in a bitter legal battle with the family's former lawyer after the sheriff attached R375,000 from his bank account in November last year using a subpoena issued by the South Gauteng high court. The attachment follows a default judgment granted against Motaung by the court on September 20 2018 for payment of the sum of R3 055 188 plus interest and legal costs.     Minister discloses 'Bosasa' past

    Defence Minister Nosiviwe Mapisa-Nqakula has admitted that she was one of the founders of Dyambu Holdings, later to become Bosasa, following explosive evidence this week at the commission of inquiry into state capture. The controversial company's former chief operations officer, Angelo Agrizzi, told the commission headed by Deputy Chief Justice Raymond Zondo that senior ANC leaders such as Mapisa-Nqakula and International Relations and Co-operation Minister Lindiwe Sisulu, who are both members of the ANC's national executive committee, were among the shareholders of Dyambu Holdings. Agrizzi said former national director of public prosecutions Vusi Pikoli's wife, Girly Pikoli, was also a shareholder.

    Passengers stranded for 16 hours on a plane in freezing Happy Valley

    Passengers on a United Airlines flight from New Jersey to Hong Kong were stranded on a plane for around 16 hours in Canada on Sunday. Around 250 passengers were affected.  The United Airlines flight was diverted to Goose Bay Airport in Newfoundland, Canada due to a medical emergency.  To further add to the trauma, the airline encountered a mechanical problem due to the harsh weather conditions.  Passengers claimed they waited on the freezing runway for more than 16 hours with a dwindling supply of food on the plane.  One of the passengers, Sonjay Dutterson, a wrestler, detailed his experience on Twitter. He was on his way to Macau, China for a wrestling show on Tuesday.  “Might not make it Macau

    Cape Town - Despite soaring rental prices in Cape Town, thousands of students are turning to private accommodation mainly because of limited spaces at universities and colleges. With the start of the academic year a few weeks away at most universities, some students might not get a space in residence, turning to privately run accommodation across the city. UWC has 3302 beds available, Cape Peninsula University of Technology (CPUT) just over 9 000, while Stellenbosch University has around 8 000 and the UCT about 6 700 beds.
