Vodacom has stopped issuing unlimited free airtime to several members of the Mandela family due to rising data costs. According to Sunday World, Winnie Madikizela Mandela was downgraded to a capped top-up contract of R2 500 per month while Zinzi, Zenani, Mandla, Mbuso and Ndaba Mandela are on R750 top up contracts. Vodacom spokesperson Byron Kennedy confirmed this, commenting that the Mandelas had been long-standing customers of the telecommunications giant. “As governance requirements and expectations in South Africa and around the world have progressively changed over the past two decades, so too has the contractual relationship between corporates and the likes of the Mandela family,” he added.
DJ Tira is on the road to recovery after collapsing at his home and being rushed to hospital. The musician was treated for fatigue and was later discharged. A group of eight sports presenters and analysts has been shown the door by the beleaguered SABC, bringing the number of casualties to 13. The eight were fired, allegedly because the public broadcaster could not afford to pay them because it is going through financial difficulties. No South African will trust an uneducated leader after President Jacob Zuma. This has led to EFF leader Julius Malema and his party executives pushing that all their leaders should further their studies. Zuma does not have a formal education and corruption became rampant under his presidency. CAPE TOWN - The Democratic Alliance (DA) has filed a Constitutional Court application to intervene in the Economic Freedom Fighters (EFF)’s impeachment case against President Jacob Zuma. The United Democratic Movement (UDM) and the Congress of the People (Cope) are already backing the case to force Speaker Baleka Mbete to initiate impeachment proceedings against Zuma for his conduct related to the Nkandla scandal. The DA says it believes it can provide new evidence that can assist the court.
